Triumph Bonneville is the name given to three motorcycle models from this notable British motorcycle marque. It is named after the Bonneville Salt Flats in the state of Utah, USA, where Triumph and other motorcycle companies made attempts on the world motorcycle speed records. All share a parallel-twin four-stroke engine configuration. The current version, produced since 2001 by the modern successor of the original company, is a completely redesigned and re-engineered evolution of the original design.

Yamaha Indonesia sangat peduli - dan memang jadi komitmenya - terhadap kemajuan motorsport, khususnya balap motor, di Tanah Air. GM Promotion & Motorsport PT Yamaha Motor Kencana Indonesia (YMKI), Eko Prabowo mengatakan, Yamaha terlahir dengan gen motorsport yang kental, karena itu hingga sekarang selalu berkontribusi aktif dengan prestasi yang menjulang dalam dunia balap mulai lokal seperti motoprix, indoprix hingga internasional mulai WSBK sampai MotoGP. "Atas dasar inilah, kami hari ini (27/5) meluncurkan YRA sebagai arena pembinaan pembalap muda Yamaha untuk dididik menjadi pembalap profesional dan siap berkompetisi hingga balapan dunia," papar Eko.



Sementara Manajer YRA, Ari Wibisono yang juga Manajer Motorsport YMKI menambahkan, akademi ini selain berorientasi mencetak pembalap-pembalap muda Yamaha yang berprestasi hingga level dunia, juga menjadi rujukan sekolah balap di Asean. "Dengan kurikulum baru dipandu instruktur berpengalaman Hokky Krisdianto, kami optimis dalam lima tahun ke depan, Indonesia khususnya Yamaha akan memiliki pembalap-pembalap yang tangguh dan siap berprestasi dalam bertanding di event internasional," jelas Ari.



Ari menjelaskan lagi, salah satu inti materi yang akan diberikan yakni basic riding Supersport sesuai dengan visi YRA ke depan. Dalam pelatihan, semua pembalap muda Yamaha diberikan materi komprehensif mulai dari skill riding, learning track, basic motocross, pelatihan fisik, gizi dan nutrisi, communication skill dan motivasi. "Jadi tidak hanya diberikan ilmu teknik balap saja termasuk motocross, namun juga pengetahuan seputar gizi hingga cara berkomunikasi. Itu semua akan menjadi bekal mereka dalam menjalani karier sebagai pembalap professional,” sebut Ari.



Pelatihan akan dipusatkan di Sirkuit Sentul dengan menggunakan unit Yamaha V-ixion, Yamaha TTR125 dan Yamaha YZF-R6.

The Kawasaki Versys was introduced in both Europe and Canada towards the end of 2006 and then it was introduced in the United States in 2007. The name of this motorcycle is shortened from “versatile system” to get Versys. This simply refers to the different riding attributes this bike has that makes it more versatile. The Versys is an all-rounder middleweight bike and has a standard riding posture.

The Versys has a 650 cc four stroke liquid cooled parallel twin engine that was changed a bit to get more torque. This engine is inspired by the Ninja 650R.

The inlet and exhaust cams were outfitted with shorter valve duration in order to increase the torque. This results in better throttle at lower revs because the peak torque has been moved further down the rev range. To make the power even smoother a balance tube was added right between the exhaust headers.

The Versys was created for pavement riding on back-roads and city roads. As a result, the fuel injection system was revamped. It was fully mapped so the mid-range from 3000-6000 revs would receive a nice and strong response from the throttle.

Many new features were incorporated, including a two-way air jacket, diamond frame, and an engine producing a torque of 12.8 Nm at a relatively low 5500 RPM for better fuel economy. The first version of the bike featured spoke wheels and kick start only.

Fuel economy though could be the biggest loser as a 150cc motorcycle can scarcely match a 100cc motorcycle for outright fuel economy. However, Bajaj might skirt this issue by offering the Boxer 150 at a INR 40,000 price mark, which is about the same as entry level 100cc motorcycles like the best selling Hero Honda Splendor. So, at that price a 150cc rugged motorcycle might actually find takers for the added ruggedness despite a lower fuel economy.

The CBR1000RR (also known as the Fireblade) is a 999 cc (61.0 cu in) liquid-cooled inline four-cylinder sport bike that was introduced by Honda in 2004 to replace the CBR954RR.

KTM RC8 very comfortable riding

The RC8 is KTM's first attempt at making a sports motorcycle potentially capable of competing in WSB. And for a first attempt it seems very good. Like many sports bikers I have been rather excited by the arrival of the Arseyate and was keen to give it a decent test to see if it matches up to all the hype.

I rode this one over a fair selection of roads here in Belgium, clocking up a total of 236 kms (147.5 miles) and it now has 1600 kms on the clock, so well run in I would say. My route included motorway miles, (E411) and good twisty (ish) roads that I know, being the N910, N946, N948, N936 and N97, around the general area of Dinant.

The way this bike was set up on the multi-adjustable riding position worked well. The bars and subframe were set at their lowest position and the footpegs were as low and as far back as they can go and this equates to a very comfortable riding position, with a fairly short reach to the bars. A bit more upright to what I am used to on my Blade.

Ben Spies MotoGP started the 2011 season with disappointing results. Because the Yamaha rider fails to finish in two of the three series that have been dilakoninya, and now slumped at position 14 of the standings.

Bautista: Suzuki Still Strong in This Season

Alvaro Bautista was still confident that the Suzuki MotoGP 2011 is still robust in the face of this even though they start out with a badly broken leg because of his injury.

Spanish rider was the only Suzuki rider in the squad for the Japanese factory MotoGP team for 2011. However, he missed the series opener in Qatar and the second series in Spain due to an injury during training at the Losail Circuit.

"I've worked hard since the GP of Portugal and tests to improve kebugaranku and ready to face Le Mans and the rest of the season," said Bautista.

"It's nice to be back again to the track at Estoril, but it showed me that I still have a lot of work to fitness during the race. I plan to go to Le Mans with better conditions than in Estoril and of course with better conditions than with when I came to France years ago!
